The voices of Tampa’s elders carry invaluable stories from the Jim Crow and Civil Rights era — stories of survival, resistance, and community. If We Listen is a short documentary series that preserves these memories before they fade, reminding us that history still lives in the people around us.

pearson
Ruth J. Pearson was a teacher at the Harlem Academy. Tampa's first Black School located at the corner of Marion and Harrison.
Larry Curtis was here in Tampa during the Vietnam War. Also during the "Tampa Riot" of 1967. Gives his account of what was really happening in Tampa during those times.
